Mercury in Leo

Communication as self-expression and performance, the mind oriented toward vision and narrative, and the hurt beneath being ignored

Nervous system pattern

The cognitive system is linked to the recognition system — ideas feel most real when they are received, celebrated, or engaged with by an audience. Being talked over, having ideas ignored, or losing the thread of a conversation produces a specific threat response.

Somatic signature

Expansion in the chest and voice when communication is landing well. The physical experience of inspiration — a warmth and forward-moving energy that accompanies a genuinely exciting idea. Deflation and withdrawal when communication does not receive the engagement it sought.

Wound pattern

Early experiences where being heard was conditional, where ideas were dismissed or where the self had to compete for airtime. Or environments where verbal performance was explicitly rewarded, making communication a site of both pleasure and pressure.

Healing path

Developing the capacity to value one's own ideas independent of their reception. Learning to hold ideas with equal dignity whether or not the audience responds.
