How this work is written
Research standard: every psychological claim traces to named researchers in the peer-reviewed literature. Vedic content draws from classical texts (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Chamatkar Chintamani) cross-referenced with contemporary commentary.
The 9/10 floor: a piece does not publish until it clears this test. Would this help someone at 2am who is genuinely struggling, or is it self-indulgent? If the answer is the latter, it does not go out.
Voice rules: no em-dashes in finished prose, no exclamation marks, no platitudes, no "beautiful journey" language. These are not stylistic preferences. They are commitments to a kind of honesty that ornamental punctuation and performed warmth work against.
How citations are verified
Every library entry cites its sources by name. The Bibliography at /bibliography/ lists the full reading across 7 categories. When a thinker is cited, the primary work has been read. Not summarized from a secondary source. Not paraphrased from a popular account. The primary work.
This matters because the distance between what a researcher actually argued and what the wellness internet says they argued is often significant. The citation standard exists to close that distance.
How AI is used in this work
Claude Code (Anthropic's AI coding tool) builds and maintains the site infrastructure: code, routing, structured data schemas, and technical architecture. All prose, frameworks, positions, and intellectual content that appears under the name Nikita Datar is written by Nikita Datar. No AI generates the text that publishes as her writing without her authorship and editing.
The voice, the argument, and the positions are hers. The site is built by Claude Code. Those are two different things, and the distinction is not cosmetic.
The quality standard
Self-confrontation, not self-help. Witnessing, not instructing. The work does not tell you who you are. It creates conditions in which you might recognize yourself.
What this work refuses: em-dashes used as emotional substitutes, exclamation marks as performed enthusiasm, wellness platitudes that feel true without being verifiable, the word "journey" applied to anything that is actually a reckoning.
The test for every piece is the 2am test. Real struggle at a real hour. Would this land as useful, honest, and true? Or would it land as a person performing their depth? The first publishes. The second does not.
