Nervous system pattern

The self-system is organized around the relational field — identity is most coherent in contexts of belonging, care, and continuity. The self can be highly responsive to the emotional climate of relationships, and identity can feel unstable when the relational environment is disrupted.

Somatic signature

Warmth in the chest and gut as the primary site of self-recognition. The body that knows itself through caring — for others, for a home, for continuity. Physical withdrawal as a protection strategy when the self feels threatened — the retreat into the shell.

Wound pattern

Early disruptions to the sense of belonging — family instability, emotional unavailability, or the implicit message that the self's needs were secondary to the relational field's requirements.

Healing path

Developing a stable sense of self that does not depend on the emotional stability of the relational environment. Learning that identity persists through disruption to belonging.
