Mapping the origins of the pattern
Trauma in this framework is not limited to acute events. It includes the chronic relational environment that shaped the nervous system before language — the consistently unavailable parent, the household where need was unsafe, the early message that a specific version of self was acceptable and others were not. This is developmental, attachment-based, and relational trauma.
The wound pattern
The wound in this dimension is the gap between what the original environment provided and what the developing nervous system required. That gap gets filled by the adaptive self — the strategic personality built to navigate the specific relational field available.
The healing path
Trauma healing in this framework is not about processing an event. It is about updating the nervous system's operating model — revising the body's implicit knowledge about whether safety, belonging, and worth are available.
